  • With ladder packed in the car, Gunzel repellent on hand, and a good forecast, QBX003 upset the best laid plans as it had ran round 44202 whilst in the Cement works sidings. These shunts are never usually carried out in that site but it caught us out for once. Anyway, QBX003 and 44202 lead the Friday division of the cement train bound for Benalla and Melbourne. This is certainly turning out to be my most photographed train of late. 2020-03-13 Qube QBX003-44202 6SM7

  • This photograph, taken at f5.0 at 0.3s, ISO 6400, was more of an experiment than anything else, but I'm rather pleased with the outcome, nonetheless. Down in the valley below, the small town of Picton, set at the foot of the Southern Highlands, slumbers under the cold light of a Super Full Moon. NSW, 9th March, 2020.

  • "The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas." It might have been a night such as this that inspired Alfred Noyes to write the opening lines of his famous poem, "The Highwayman".
