Während im restlichen Elbtal die Berge der sächsichen Schweiz bereits Schatten auf die Gleise werfen, bekommt das Königsteiner Stadtbahnviadukt an langen Sommerabenden noch Sonne ab. So konnte 186 127 mit ihrer langen Leine E-Wagen auch kurz nach 20Uhr noch bei der Durchfahrt durch den Haltepunkt Königstein fotografiert werden. While in the rest of the Elbe valley the mountains already cast shadows on the tracks, the Königsteiner Stadtbahn viaduct still gets sun on long summer evenings. So 186 127 could still be photographed there with a long train consisting of open freight cars.

Op 28 mei werd er een dag in het Elbtal gefotografeerd. We begonnen de dag bij het voormalige Güterbahnhof van Königstein, waar het al snel 'raak' was: Captrain/ITL kwam met een trein met silowagens voorbij met voorop 3 loc's: 2x 152 + 1x 185. De trein is onderweg richting Bad Schandau (van waar de trein met Tsjechische tractie verder gaat).

HSL 145 091 met graanwagens, Königstein, 28-05-2018

Niet veel later kwam ook HSL met een goederentrein voorbij in de vorm van een sleep graanwagens getrokken door de 145 091. De 145 091 reed voorheen nog rond met het nummer 145 CL-013 bij diverse vervoerders. De loc kwam in 2001 in dienst bij HGK. De trein is onderweg richting Bad Schandau en passeert daarbij Königstein.

193 289 rollt mit dem EC177 nach Praha hl. n. durch die Rathener Fotokurve. Aufgrund des Feiertages waren auf dem Elberadweg noch mehr Fahrradfahrer als ohnehin schon unterwegs. 193 289 passes the photo curve near Rathen with the EC177 to Praha hl. n. . Due to the public holiday, there were even more cyclists on the Elbe bike path than usual.

Het uiteindelijke wachten was op de EC richting Praag. Deze trein kwam keurig op tijd door Königstein, getrokken door de Vectron 193 295 'Kačenka'.

CD 193 296 met EC, Kurort Rathen, 27-05-2018

Nadat we klaar waren in Gotha, vertrokken we richting het Elbtal. Één van de doelen hier was het vastleggen van de EC's (en cargo's) met de nieuwe Tsjechische Vectrons. Daarnaast hoopten we in Kurort Rathen nog de enige trein met CD 371 in Duitsland te kunnen fotograferen, een weekendtrein tussen Dresden en Ústí nad Labem. Helaas bleek deze trein echter te zijn uitgevallen. Kort na de passage van een Captrain Vectron, kwam de 193 296 van de Tsjechische spoorwegen voorbij met een EC naar Praag. De zon kwam er gelukkig net een beetje doorheen.
