  • The famous campsite in the Jim Bridger Natl Forest - a cell phone signal if you stand on the rock! North on US89 from Montpelier, Idaho, past Afton, Wyoming, and then just off the main road up a forest road was this cozy camping spot. Somehow we discovered you could get a DIGITAL cell signal - 1 bar - if you stood on the rock. Then the next morning Robert went into the nearby town for coffee while I fixed breakfast on the stove propped up on the same rock. Dual purpose. While he was gone and obviously ex-con dude came walking up the road (about where the pic is taken from), then turned up the trail you see just behind where Robert is, and disappeared up the mountain. He had his jacket hiked up in back to make a clear display of his rather large revolver! My Glock was in the tankbag about 8 steps away so I just kept scrambling eggs while making smalltalk.
