  • This is Trempealeau, Wisconsin, and due to a rather fortuitous event, I've managed to get myself the last room at the The Historic Trempealeau Hotel, Restaurant and Saloon (website at the bottom). Having driven into town hoping to get a room at another establishment, that turned out to be full, I tried the Trempealeau Hotel to find that they were full, but had literally just had a cancellation; bingo! My suite for the night turned out to be a Jacuzzi room, and was, in all credit to the hotel, an extremely pleasing place to stay. A mixed freight slides west behind a Dash 9, through rain that didn't stop for the next two days. Later on in the evening, I'd spend a peaceful few hours at Lock and Dam Number Six, freeing myself of many hours in the driving seat, and taking in new surroundings. What a blissful way to spend one's time. Trepealeau WI. 07-10-2017. All rights reserved. For a top-notch hotel experience, with great staff, food, lodging, live music, and the BNSF, if you're like me, check the hotel out. www.trempealeauhotel.com
